An early 19th century Louis XV style Country French buffet a deux corps from Normandy, probably a bridal gift. Made of solid oak with raised panels and beautiful carved details including acanthus leaves, birds, grapevines, oak leaves, flowers and baskets. Crown has curved corners with elaborate carving. Snail feet in front and straight in back. Buffet provides ample storage, with top part opening to two shelves with two dovetailed drawers and bottom part having a single interior shelf. Original brass hardware with two locks and two keys. Retaining its original condition with waxed finish. All mortise and tenon joints with pegged construction. Excellent craftsmanship. Circa 1800-1820. Overall: 92"h x 61.5"w x 22"d. Top: 55.25"h x 53"w x 17"d. Bottom: 36.34"h x 61.5"w x 22"d. Interior of top: 14.5"d
