19th Century Louis XVI style semainier, or gentleman's chest with seven long dovetailed drawers originally meant to hold a week's supply of clothing. Made of solid and veneer of mahogany with oak as a secondary wood. Nice proportions and subtle details: curved fluted corners, brass trim on drawers and brass sabots on turned legs. Original white marble top. Original brass hardware. Locks are present, but no key. 63.5"h x 38w x 16"d. Circa 1840-1860. One bottom drawer has been restored. Otherwise in no other restoration.
