18th Century French Louis XV buffet, circa 1760 -1780 made of walnut with pine as a secondary wood and having a nice patina with a waxed finish. Two arched doors above a carved apron ending in scroll feet, with oak branches carved above the doors. This is a well-proportioned sideboard with beautiful carving typical from the South of France, Provence. Originally this buffet was used as a dough box with a sliding top, the conversion into a buffet likely done in the 1960s. Original hinges and escutcheons. The lock is not original but in working order. Restoration on the back two legs. 36"H x 53.5"W x 24"D. As always, more photos available upon request. We have a large selection of French antiques.
