Here is three unique c.1897 photographs from Quonochontaug,Rhode Island of a fine gentleman named Bill and his shaggy best friend called "Sport". They live in a homestead named Villa Dewey. Certainly this had to be reflective of the recent admiration of Admiral Dewey the hero of Manila Bay and Spanish American War General. There is a Cabinet photograph showing Bill & Sport in a fantastic patriotic room with a portrait of President McKinley on the wall along with his trusty Winchester Rifle,Canoe Paddle,Seth & Thomas Clock and good ole' Sport sitting on the table. The other photographs show Bill going to Larkin's Pond for a good day of fishing and another photo of a Big,Big Horse hauling Bill's friends around Villa Dewey's fine grounds. Life had to be so sweet and simple back on Villa Dewey around the turn of the 20th century. I wish I could just jump into these photos and disappear forever~fishing pole in hand.
