For your consideration this Bible belonged to the Frayard family who immigrated from France to Holland to Columbia County,New York in the middle 18th century. When they arrived in America they changed their name to Fryer along the way which is found among Roots web sight and the Mormons web sight for family records with the names listed in the Bible. I have provided many pictures for your inspection that details the birth records. The Bible is signed twice under the church's seal by the minister. The most interesting inscription on this Bible is in the back where in 1791 John Fryer took a cow of David Fryer for a three year term and is to deliver the cow and the first calf. The inscription goes on by saying if the cow is killed by lightning, fallen or other they would not be held responsible. The Bible contains a hymn section and is complete and measures 3 1/4 x 6 1/4' inches would be difficult to find a better early American example.
