Exceedingly rare James Garfield Funeral Mourning Cockade Ribbon made from flowers from Garfield’s home in Ohio. This ribbon is enclosed in the original mailing envelope from the Relic Bureau of Garfield Obsequies which is likely the only way it could have survived. I have never, ever seen another example. The assassination of James Abram Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, began when he was shot at 9:30 am on July 2, 1881, less than four months into his term as President, and ended in his death 79 days later on September 19, 1881
Ribbon measures 9’ inches with tassels.
