RARE Collection of Decatur, Illinois Photographer C.L.Wassen's Glass Negatives c.1899-1917
For your consideration we have a rather impressive and historically significant collection of 52 original 5 ½ x 7 inch glass negatives from the famed C.L.Wassen Studios of Decatur, Illinois that range in dates from 1899-1917. These glass images are from the photographer himself C.L.Wassen. This collection was purchased from his late grandson a few years ago. There are a good number of portraits where C.L.Wassen traveled into the country side taking portraits of rural farming communities and their families. And a good number of identified Decatur, Illinois affluent citizens. The glass negative of the actual photographic studio is pretty amazing in itself. If you are doing any kind of genealogical or historical research on Decatur, IL or Macon County this is a grouping you certainly do not want to miss out on. Several of the glass plates have the original envelope attached to the plate. This paper can be removed and the best product to do so called UN-DU which is sold at Hobby Lobby and Walmart among many other locations and naturally online as well.
