Boston: Henry Prentiss, 33 Court Street, 1836. Sheet music with lithograph illustrated cover, depicting a military exercise and encampment with many tents in the distance, on Boston Common. The Great Elm stands at the left framing the scene and surrounded by a picket fence. This ancient tree was sometimes referred to as "Boston's Oldest Inhabitan"t; it was regularly measured and in 1825 was 65 ft. high with a branch spread of 86ft. A bit toned at edges of front wrapper; a few chips at fold, not affecting illustration or music. Three pages. B.W. Thayer & Co. (Lithographer). 10 x 13" Very good condition.
