For your consideration I have a large archive from the Taylor and Donaldson families of Greenville, Michigan. The main emphasis is on the Taylor family which settled in upper state New York and moved to Michigan in the 19th century. They opened a business upon arriving to Michigan and began lucrative journey in local politics and commerce. Besides hundreds of photographs and ephemera the most intriguing aspect of this archive consist of three 19th journals detailing daily business activities and life in rural Michigan. In closing it is one of the richest and well documented archives I have ever been honored to own of one family. There is a lot of bang for the buck. Here is a complete inventory:

(Greenville, Michigan Taylor & Donaldson Family Archive) Journal one September 1878 to December 1888 ( 6 x 9 inches) Journal two 1881-1887 ( 8 x 10 inches) Journal three contains hand- written notes on bridge and road repair in the Township of Eureka, Michigan From 1859-1899 ( 6 x 7 ½ inches)

Photo Album One: 77 images in a 7 x 11 album c.1920-1943 Photo Album Two: Containing 50 plus images from the 1920’s. ( 7 x 11 inches) Photo Album Three: Containing 52 photographs from the decade of the 1920’s housed in a period black photo album measuring 7 x 11 ½ inches.

Marriage Scrapbook for Miss Janice Donaldson and Robert Taylor of Greenville, Michigan 10-13-1947 High School Scrapbook belonging to Janice Donaldson from Ionia, (Michigan) High School 1941-45 (216 insertions) with a good number of the insertions being photographs, addition to graduation ephemera, school plays, football games, Pearl Harbor dedication day of remembrance ,notes, sports tickets and tickets to Michigan State College Football games. Well organized throughout. ( 10 x 13 inches). Childhood scrapbook containing 193 Valentine, Birthday, Halloween, Black Americana and other holiday and seasonal cards totaling 193 in a 8 x 11/2 scrapbook album. One folder containing the Taylor genealogical family history; several papers detailing each generation. Scrapbook measuring 10 x 13 inches containing 150 Valentine and Birthday cards for the first child (Donnie Taylor) of Janice and Robert Taylor from the years of 1949-50. Photo Album 4: A large Green covered album measuring 12 x 15 inches containing photographs of Janice Donaldson and family. Inside album inscribed to Janice Donaldson’s Birthday 1939 from Mother and Daddy; 188 photographs including a number of paper and whimsical notes. (Other Notable loose Photographs): 87 loose photographs consisting of cabinet photos, albumen, snapshots, studio portraits and mini flip style photo albums.
