A rare First Seminole War American military dishonorable discharge note for a soldier named Henry Bulley ? who has disserted his unit during twice within 3 months and is found incapable (incompetent) to serve in the military. The note is signed by the officer in charge and is dated May 1st 1818. The pass is folded and it is obvious that this soldier had to display this note on several occasions when questioned by other troops as he made his way home from battle. I doubt he was given a horse and in turn had to walk across the wilderness in much peril to get home.

A remarkable document that in that it survived at all which makes me wonder if Henry did survive and the discharge paper was taken upon his death.

4.5 X 8 inches with folds.
