Chinese Silk Slipper Cobbler Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th centuryChinese Silk Slipper Cobbler Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th centuryChinese Silk Slipper Cobbler Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th century

An exceedingly rare and beautiful painting on silk of a Chinese Street Vendor Cobbler making silk slippers created in the 19th century by an unknown artist. There are very few of these paintings that are known to exist or survive and those that do are generally in museums like the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. I am proud to have four of these paintings on silk in my shop that came out of a Victorian Mansion here in St. Augustine, Florida. You can look for forever and a day and not find another example.

7 1/2 x 11’ on a 9 x 13 inch mounted border.
