Chinese War Junk Ship from eastern seas of China, Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th centuryChinese War Junk Ship from eastern seas of China, Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th centuryChinese War Junk Ship from eastern seas of China, Painted on silk by unknown artist, 19th century

An exceedingly rare and beautiful painting on silk of a Chinese War Junk Ship on the eastern seas of China created in the 19th century by an unknown artist. There are very few of these paintings that are known to exist or survive and those that do are generally in museums like the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. I am proud to have four of these paintings on silk in my shop that came out of a Victorian Mansion here in St. Augustine, Florida. This painting has minor condition issues where there is missing thin fragments of silk that are gone. But the subject matter is intact and very presentable. You can look for forever and a day and not find another example.

7 x 11’ on a 10 x 13 1/2’ inch mounted border.
