For your consideration I am offering an interesting academic scrapbook that centers on the monarchies and French royal history. The 9 x 12 inch album dates from the late 19th century and features roughly 66 insertions. There are a number of postcards from the year 1906 showing architectural scenes of Paris and engravings of noted royals. Though most interesting are the early albumen & silver gelatin photographs that have been pasted into the album pages. These photos show the interior and exterior views of many of France’s noted Chateaus, Castles and other noted structures. In many cases there is a hand written description of the photograph. Of all the images in the album there is home-made snapshot in particular that is the most intriguing by far in which a well dressed lady is being escorted into a 1906 French coach Renault limo. There is a period description of this event which states this occurred on May 29th 1906 in Paris. Part of the paper is missing but there is still enough there where someone may be able to translate.
Condition Report: Both front and back boards are missing with page separation from tattered spine.
