State of Alabama Lauderdale County Land Purchase Deed dated September 15th 1866 between B.H.Woods who purchases a sizable amount of land from L.M.( Leroy Madison) Pickens for seven hundred dollars.

One page two-sided deed with Internal Revenue certificate & bank check 10 & 2 cent postage stamps all hand cancelled by L.M.Pickens.

Geological research shows L.M.Pickens married Martha Farris, 2 Jan 1829, Lauderdale Co AL and is buried in the Wesley Chapel cemetery in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Apr. 11, 1809 Maury County Tennessee and died on May 12th 1899. L.M.Pickens is also listed in the 1830 and 1850 census of Lauderdale County.

Condition Report: Some paper loss but legible ;7.5’ X 10 inches mounted on acid-free archival document film.
