Interesting group of early Boy Scout ephemera from the Waynesboro, Georgia Boy Scout commander James W.Freeman in the year 1926. There are two ledgers included in this group that include a “who’s who” of Waynesboro Boy Scott history. The ledgers list the many troop leaders and dues paid in addition to the names of the scouts themselves. I would say most of these boy scouts later fought in WW2 given their age at that time in history. The ledgers are marked Sapp & Freeman 1904. Sapp & Freeman was likely a general hardware store located in during this time period. There is a 1926 Boy Scout handbook belonging to Allen Freeman the son of Mr. Freeman, in addition to a 1927 Year Book belonging to James Freeman with hand-written insertions of business transactions for the city of Waynesboro, Georgia. And finally a small grouping of printed Boy Scout bulletins and notices.
