Gorgeous southern & original raw non-restored steamer trunk that once belonged to one Mrs. J.N.Embry of Columbus, Georgia. Mrs. Embry used this trunk in a monumental family move to Lake County, Florida from her home in Columbus, Georgia in the 1870’s. The trunk traveled by horse-drawn wagon, rail and paddle boat that ultimately let this family and trunk through the St. Johns River to its final destination on a large orange grove plantation on Lake Harris in Leesburg, Florida. The trunk measures 25’ in height and 21’ deep and 36’ long. The old brass and copper fittings are as they were when the trunk arrived to the new home in Florida over 140 years ago. Let me stress nothing has been done to the trunk and it is as found in its natural state. I have included a picture of the house that this trunk was removed from. Fresh private purchase from southern estate.
