Interesting to note how on the verso how Pilot Cox passed a color blindness test on October 6th of 1888.Inspector of Hulls and Inspector of Boilers have signed the document. John Cox was likely named after Revolutionary War hero John Cox Stevens who was also a pioneer in Steamboats. John Cox also help Pilot the The Queen City, billed as the finest steamer ever afloat on Western waters, was launched at Cincinnati in 1897
