Scrace original albumen photograph showing the damage and body recovery from the St. Louis Tornado disaster. In May 1896, a cyclone, now called a tornado, hit St. Louis near the Soulard area. Many people died from this weather catastrophe. Some were prominent St. Louisans, others ordinary citizens.
