Mascardi, Agostino. Dell'arte Historica. Venice, 1655. Small volume, 3.5 x.6 in., but 2 in. thick, in paper-covered boards (probably intending for the wealthy patron to have the volume bound to match his library), pages have not been trimmed. Nearing the end of "Historica est magistra vitae" (History is life's teacher) of the Renaissance. Cicero saw history as the summit of rhetorical culture, and numerous authors took up the banner to elaborate on the theme.
Condition: Front board detached. Slight water stains along bottom. Overall leaves in very good condition.
