This handsome and historically important rod came from legendary husband wife fishing tackle collectors in the United States. This rod as the title laments belonged to the late General Mark Clark who used this rod fishing off his boat named Red while trolling Lake Michigan. There is a very professional detailed letter of providence that comes with this rod describing how it can in the possession of the last owner.
The rod is from the Montague Red Company, Monterey Model 5 ½ Split Bamboo, 2 piece, turned oak grips with original decal and part of label.
This rod was a favorite of General Clark and it shows by how he handled it and with whom he gave it to during the last years of his life.
A special piece from a highly decorated World War 2 General.
