Scarce original mounted image believed to have been taken near Asheville,N.C around the late 19th century to turn of the 20th century. Image shows a grouping people who appeared to have been murdered. The first person is a black man from the top of the row. There also appears to be two women and one younger person. The local authorities have placed hats completely over the victim’s faces with the exception of the black man. There is a story here to tell but no inscription or other information is noted. We do know for near certainty this image came from North Carolina. And once again believe it to be around Asheville.
Photograph measures 5” x 6 ¾ on a 8” x 10 inch mount. Rare historically important image.
