Particulars: c.1920’s-30’s Photo albums of a set of twins identified as Mr. & Mrs. Doris and Lois Woerner proud twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. F.A.Woerner of Laurel, New York and Sussex,Delaware. Two albums first being 7 x 10 inches containing 23 age progression photos. Second album measures 5 x 6 inches containing 40 photographs. This snapshot of Lois and Doris Woerner's life was captured by the 1940 U.S. Census.
When Lois Woerner was born about 1926, her father, Fionara, was 25, and her mother, Mary, was 17. In 1940, she was 14 years old and lived in Sussex, Delaware, with her father, mother, and sister.
For your consideration I have two unusual photo albums of the life of two celebrity identical twins in Doris & Lois Woerner. What is remarkable about these albums is that their parents organized an age progression photographic record of these girls, literally from the cradle to the grave. Or I should say the cradle to college graduation and later adulthood. The photography of the girls has been carefully executed to simulated exact poses from year to year. In addition the parents spared no expense in making each portrait picture perfect. There is a fair amount of information on these twins to be found on the net and further digging should reveal more. It is the type of photographic record that an anthropologist would be excited to own. There are roughly 73 insertions in the two albums which include postcards, though 98 % of the insertions are photographs in which many of them being developed on high-end silver gelatin paper.
You will not find an equal.
