Here is a wood cut Dutch girl puzzle. It measures 11 ½ by 8 ½ inches and has 19 pieces. This puzzle is in very good condition. It shows a bit of scratches on the lower part of her dress. The colors are strong and all the pieces are intact. I have found another puzzle on line with different colors and it has the Judy company logo on it. This puzzle has more detail and a older look. I am inclined to think this is an earlier version even though it does not have the trademark. The edges of this puzzle are ¼ inches thick. The Judy Company was started by Mr. Hymie Berman in 1936 and it was sold to another company in 1968. The first puzzles were had made by him but when the demand became too much they started The Judy Company. They hired 300 workers of which half were special needs or handicapped workers. They were one of the first companies to do this. Shipping weight is 2 pounds. They have expanded the name and the new company still made some of their items in the 1970’s.
