What a wonderful find this is, a vintage wooden Swiss cheese box with distinct writing. The writing on the box is green and very clean. The wood box measures 9 inches long and 2 5/8 deep and 3 inches wide. The walls of the box are stapled together and there are two holes on the end edges where nails were. The box bottom reads 520. The writing of the box is very clear and the color is able to be seen on all sides. The long side reads Kraft in a green rectangle in the upper left corner. It also reads Kraft-Phenix Cheese Corp. General Offices---Chicago, ILL. It also reads in green lettering , Swiss pasteurized process cheese and 1 pound net. On the end there is the K symbol, process cheese swiss. The Kraft company changed their name to the “Kraft –Phenix cheese corp.” in 1928. So this box was made after that. This box is in excellent shape. A wonderful box for a display.
