Beautiful and so unusual this tulip plate is so unique. The plate has a variegated beaded edge with a scalloped look. There are two of the scallops that have a rounded triangle type hole that could be identified as handles. The plate has three white iris stencils on a cloudy maroon background. The center of the plate has three long green tulip leaves splaying in three directions to almost the edge of the plate. Next to each of the leaves are three open tulips that are maroon and white. The center of the plate has three soft maroon petals. The plate surface is smooth but the feel of the tulip transfer areas are slightly brushed. The iris areas do not have that feel but rather are smooth to the touch. Below the dotted outside edge is a raised filigree scroll all the way around. There is one indented dot near the center of the plate that appears to be a flaw in the porcelain plate. The bottom has a very faint teal mark that has a Laurel type shield with the letters Bayreuth, China, GVM & Co, Germany in green. This was obtained with magnification only and many eyes examining. This plate is 9 ¾ inches wide. This plate is absolutely gorgeous with its graceful flowers and would look wonderful on any hutch.
