If you are into pottery, as I am, this little Gilner planter will really appeal to you. Just a little planter at 4 ½ inches wide and 3 ¼ inches tall it is perfect for a single cactus. The pottery is irregularly shaped on the top almost as if ruffled. The first 1 inch is wide and then it narrows to 3 inches on the bottom with the gold metal sleeve. The sleeve is 2 inches tall and has a decorative grid pattern. It has four legs with rubber caps on each of them. It is marked on the bottom with the word Gilner and Y 612. I see no cracks or chips. I see two black line marks about half inch on the inside that do not break the surface and may be either under the glaze or might be craze lines but I don't believe so. The aqua color is a color of the 50's. I see no mineral deposits on this piece. Keep wondering if this could be a salesman's sample because of its size. Just a pretty little unusual piece.
