This set of four County Cookbooks was compiled from The Farm Journal’s food editors. Living in a rural Montana community I can tell you during harvesting and branding many a wife, mother or grandmother feeds their crew dinner. Recipes are exchanged all the time and often taken from The Farm Journals throughout the country. These four books boast of just such recipes. Each book has a different theme, they are Great cooking for Everyday, Family Favorites, Traditional American Dishes and Hospitality Cooking. Meals like Big community BBQ’s, Brunswick stew, Two way cookies, Hush Puppies, Stuffed Pheasant and Black bottom Lemon Pie. Each cookbook was given with either 1 king size Downy, 4 bars of zest or Spic and Span. The copyright of these books is 1971 and this was the second printing as the first date listed is 1959. The books are in good condition. None of the books has had the binding totally cracked. Shipping weight is 3 pounds. The front and back cover have been cracked but the pages in between have not. One book shows slight wear on a corner and two books have two rough edges on the front corner. These books are definitely a find for any collection and a wonderful source for great ranch recipes.
