This Happy Hollisters and the trading post mystery was written by Jerry West. The copyright on this hardbound book is 1954 by Doubleday & Company, Inc. It has a dust jacket which shows wear on the binding edges and at the lower edge. The rose colored book beneath it is in very good condition. The binding reads the title in black print and the front cover has the children embossed in the right hand corner. The dust jacket front has a wonderful colored picture of the donkey of the story pulling a cart with children and gifts. There are 70 illustrations in two colors in this book. The dust jacket states the book has two mysteries inter-woven together. Sue's promised donkey arrives with a note attached that reads Y.I.F. and no one knows what the message means. Its Christmas and the community Santa from the display disappears. The pages of this book have not been creased although the binding does open fully from the front and back. A truly delightful book.
