If you like clowns you will like these clown bookends from Fitz and Floyd from 1979. The clowns have light celery green Stetson hats and shoes. They have white suits and gloves and a green and white polka dot bow ties. Their blond hair shows under their hats and their white face red nosed faces are very expressive. One clown uses its back as a bookend and the other is laying on his back with his feet up in the air so he can hold up the other books on the other end. The clowns measure 6 inches tall and 5 inches long and 4 ¾ inches wide . They both have a white rectangle sticker with the word reading Fitz and Floyd c MCML XXIX and a “hand painted Japan” white rectangle sticker on their buttocks. There is one white light spot on one of the blue shoes and in looking at it someone has touched it up with something shinny so I suspect the paint may have flaked off and that was their repair. It does not deter from the look as there is a deliberate white streak on the other shoe. Books are not included. This is such a nice set of bookends that would look charming in a child’s room or for a collector of clown items.
