This kitschy family of elves is ready for Christmas . The two smaller ceramic elves have the faces and the pointed ears and green pointed hat which are salt and pepper shakers. One has the original cork the other does not. The larger elves or pixies have pointed hat covers that can be removed. The faces have bright blue eyes and peaked eyebrows that make them very interesting. I believe that they may be from the fifties. The larger pieces are 5 ½ inches tall with the hat and 3 ½ inches without. The smaller shakers are 3 ¾ inches tall. The pieces have an imprint reading c 8 or c o o if you read it going vertical. Possibly they are hand painted. These people are so unusual that I am listing even though the do have some damage. I find a chip in the bowl top of one of the covered pieces and roughness to the touch on the other. The one green hat does have a spot where a point has been repaired and can be seen. It easily can be turned to the back so as not to be seen when displayed. The back of one of the ears on a shaker has a tiny chip. But you can see it from the front. Although these do show use I believe they still are wonderful pieces to display. In my research I have only found a few cookie jars and all have been painted differently. If you are a collector of pixies or elves these are a real find to add to your collection.
