English ice bucket in silver plate made in 1954 by famed silver firm Elkington. Fully marked on both the bucket and the ice strainer. This pierced platform allowed the melted water to drain away from the ice thus keeping the ice fresh. Designed in a very modern style with rows of bands around the bucket and on the handles. The interior is spotted at the bottom under t he strainer but all visible silver is in excellent condition. This would also serve as a wine bucket with the strainer removed. Measures 4 7/8" tall; it is 3 3/4" in diameter across the base and 6 3/4" in diameter across the top including the handles. The strainer is 4 1/4" in diameter and sits 3 1/8" from the top. A beautiful piece.
