Antique men's dark brown crocodile wallet with four solid sterling silver corners. Hallmarked for Birmingham with a makers mark of CPB for the silversmith Charles Penny Brown. Two of the corners are marked with the "x" for 1897 and the other two are marked with the "y" for 1898. The interior is lined with tan leather and has compartments for currency and stamps as shown. The wallet is on a metal frame as was popular at this time. A metal spring button opens the wallet. The crocodile grain is large and even; there is some wear to the wallet consistent with its 120 year age. Measures 5 1/8" by 3 5/8" and is 1/2" thick. An elegant piece with many more years of use ahead.
