Hallmarked English enamel and sterling silver clothes brush. This would have been part of a much larger grander vanity set enjoyed by a wealthy owner. Most sets had two brushes-one with soft bristles and one with firmer bristles depending on the fabric to be brushed. This brush has the softer bristles. The green enamel is guilloche or engine turn pattern with beautiful color and design. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1933 and the makers mark is for W. Neale & Son Ltd. It is in great condition with a few tiny dents to the silver; there are a few small scratches to the enamel hard to see except really up close. The bristles are clean and full in the wooden base. An elegant reminder of a different way of life. Measures 5 1/4" long by 1 1/2" wide and stands 1 1/2" tall.
