Coronation mug for Britain's King Edward VIII dated 1937. This mug was created for a coronation that never happened. Edward's abdication in 1936 led to the rule of his brother George VI whose daughter Elizabeth II is the current reigning monarch. Edward went on to become the Duke of Windsor. Made in England by Royal Doulton and marked with the patent number Reg.no.812549 on the bottom. This mug is in very good condition with no cracks or chips. It measures 3 1/4" tall and 4" across the top including the handle.
