A pair of matching sterling silver lidded crystal jars for a vanity table. By the Alvin Silver Co which was a popular maker of silver flatware during the late 19th c into the early 20th c until they were bought by their competitor Gorham in 1928. Both jars are hallmarked "Sterling Alvin" on their rims. One has the number 3 and the other has the number 6 but both are exactly the same size. The sterling silver lids have a swirl pattern around an engine turn pattern with a faint monogram. Both are in excellent condition with no damage either to lids or jars. They measure 1 3/8" tall and 1 1/2" in diameter. A charming pair for the dresser.
