Love this gentle blue antique Salt Glaze Syrup Pitcher with Pewter Lid. The relief design is fully ripened wheat stalks tied and hanging over a double lattice work background. Color is a blue-grey. The pewter lid has an offset thumb leaf finial and works fine. The handle was professionally repaired at some point in history and is in sound condition. I believe this pitcher to be late c.1800s Staffordshire. It measures 5 3/4 inches high and is 4 3/4 inches across, including handle. This pitcher is quite a nice find for any pottery collector. When I look at it, all its imaginable history flows from its spout. How many tables has it graced in all its years, I wonder.
