Here is a unique mid-1800s-early 1900s Sarreguemines French Majolica double-sided bowl in deep cobalt blue with gilded-gold bow shaped handle. Each side bowl has yellow interior with a delicate handpainted gilded-gold branch on the outside. The flowers are liken-to the dogwood flower. Each blossom petal is a shiny metallic-silver with raised dots. The piece measures 9 inches long by 4 ½ inches high. Each side bowl is oval in shape and measures 4 by 3 ¾ inches in diameter. The piece is very different and quite attractive, interestingly having an almost Asian appearance. It would look quite nice with short stemmed yellow roses, I might even put some pink in there, a very striking color combo. Love the deep cobalt of this piece. Item is in excellent condition; I believe it dates to 1835-early 1900. Identification marks can be found on the bottom.
