Found this hefty J. &. P. COATS Antique Spool Cabinet with original brass drawer pulls in Maine. On the back is J. & P. COATS’ BEST SIX CORD SPOOL COTTON. At one time the drawers and sides carried paper labels/decals which are no longer there. In doing some research, I found that you can replace these, but I like to leave things as we find them and leave it up to the buyer for such decision. I sort of liked it without the labels. The solidly built cabinet is cherry; it’s clean and has no odors. And it’s a hefty one, measuring: 24 ½ inches wide by 17 3/8 inches deep by 20 3/8 inches tall. It’s a handsome looking cabinet, of which, one might use for storing small sized maps or other documents. When cleaning it I found stuffed in the back of one drawer, a child’s, probably a first graders, English writing lesson. I figured whoever owned this cabinet used it to store her child’s special school papers in; and I decided it should stay with the cabinet.
