Offered here is a wonderful early 1800s Barber-Surgeon’s shaving, bloodletting bowl in original Sienna red paint with Tole painted design around the rim edge and an impressed flower in bottom of bowl. The rim measures 10 ¾ inches in diameter, the brim edge is 3 1/8 inches wide and there is a 4 ¾ inches cut-out semi-circle in rim edge. This slot would be placed under the chin against the neck as a catch basin; height measures 4 ¾ inches high. The bowl is clean and in good age-related condition with no dents. The finish is lightly stippled and there is a metal loop for hanging on wall. It’s quite nice. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
