If you love color then you might want to start collecting Stick Cut Sponge and Spatter Ware. When grouped together the array of colors will make you feel joyful and happy. This plate might be a nice starter piece. The design is a cluster of red plums with teal feathery leaves and blue sponge wheel flowers with lime green leaves on white ironstone. A double red band encircles the rim and inner well edges. Colors are sharp and bright. The plate measures 8 ½ inches in diameter; it is clean and in very good age-related condition with fine crazing beneath glaze that can happen during manufacturing. There is also a very minute glaze slip mark on one plum (please see photo). Stick/kiln mark on back with SOCIETE CERAMIQUE MAESTRICHT MADE IN HOLLAND hallmark dating this plate to the 19th century. It’s a nice starter plate and when tucked in among a great collection will add that wanted color. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
