Offered here is a 19th century Stick Cut Sponge Ware stoneware bowl. Encircling the top rim of the white bowl is a hand sponged geometric style design in a teal green color, below that band is another of same design. The bowl measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter by 4 inches high; it is in clean, age-related condition with no chips; there is one faint hairline crack at top rim and an area of some line crazing in glaze on interior. The bowl is quite nice, it is eye catching attractive and will add an important touch to any collection. It is unmarked. I believe it to be English or French.
