19th Century Hand Turned Wooden Bowl in Blue Paint19th Century Hand Turned Wooden Bowl in Blue Paint19th Century Hand Turned Wooden Bowl in Blue Paint19th Century Hand Turned Wooden Bowl in Blue Paint

Offered here is an early to mid-19th century Hand Turned Wooden Bowl in original light blue paint. The interior is putty color, a nice compliment to the exterior color. The bowl appears to be hand carved with a somewhat flat bottom. The exterior of the bowl is quite rough while the interior is relatively smooth. The rim edge is uneven with one side being higher than the other and with a different pitch. Wood grain lines can be seen and felt through the smooth patina surface. Paint is worn in some areas from age and use. Bowl measures 6 1/2 inches in diameter with slight variation at different points. Height varies by 2 ¼ to 2 5/8 inches high due to worn and uneven rim edge. It is sturdy. A hefty little bowl. It's quite a nice example of New England Treenware. The bowl was found in Maine. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
