19th Century Stoneware Crock with Two-Tone Cobalt Fern Design
Located in northern Connecticut this Salt Glazed Stoneware Crock is quite nice with stylized two-tone blue/cobalt fern design on the front and lug handles. It measures 14 ¼ inches tall by 11 ½ inches in diameter; I'm guessing a 4 or 5 gallon capacity. The crock is impressive, in good age related condition with no cracks. There is ware and a few minor chips on the bottom which is normal for these antiquated crocks; they were used and stored. The rim edge is in good condition with few chips on the inner rim edge. Color is speckled sienna/reddish brown on tan/stone. It's a beauty. Crock is unmarked. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
