Love these folky painted sad irons, especially this beauty. The colors and folky design are historically correct for coming straight out of a Connecticut home where the owner was aged 100 years. She is still living. Colors are: shades of viridian green, mustard, yellow and red on cream white. On the top of the iron, in raised letters is the word, OBER. This company was located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. There is also another raised letter or could be a number 6. It is painted over and difficult to determine. The handle has cross hatch design. The iron measures 6 5/8 inches long by 4 ¼ inches wide and stands 6 inches high; the base alone measures 2 ½ inches high. It's pretty hefty. The paint is in age related condition with chipping; but the paint chipped edges are pretty smoothed out and remain for the most part, adhered. These irons are made from cast iron and make wonderful door stops. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
