Offered here is a 19th century Windsor Arm Chair Commode with colorful, age-old braided seat pad that came with the chair when we found it. The chair has birdcage back in original black paint with gold painted floral on seat front; gold painted decoration can also be found on rungs. Cutout in chair seat was put back and is reinforced from beneath. When this was done, I don't know. It is as we found it in upstate New York. These chairs, because they were known to be comfortable, were often used with chamber pots. Sure beat the trek to the outhouse on cold winter nights. Chair is in sturdy age-related condition and seat pad is in excellent age-related condition. All and all, it’s a handsome chair…and quite comfortable too. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
