Offered here is a 19th C. Red Ware Ear Handled Butter Churn with folky yellow slip flowers in basket design; design is on both sides. The butter churn is barrel shaped and measures 14 inches tall by 9 inches in diameter at bottom. The lid remains intact and in excellent condition. (Wooden dasher/paddle not included.) The churn is in age-related condition with some areas where the glaze either did not adhere or is worn by age and use; except that it follows the horizontal turning lines, this leads me to believe it just didn't adhere. Aside from this, the glaze is in otherwise extremely good condition with mild crazing beneath the glaze and a nick on one ear handle. This does not detract from its charm. The design is quite nice. Churn is unmarked. Sales tax must be collected for buyers living in or picking up in New York State. Local tax rate applies.
