Offered here is a 19th Century Firkin with carrying handle and handled lid. Firkins were a necessary back then to store flour, sugar or other dry ingredients, keeping them dry and keeping out hungry critters. This good sized Firkin measures 17 ½ inches tall; diameter at top measures 14 1/8 inches; bottom diameter is 15 ½ inches. The nicely aged-old wood is in excellent clean usable condition; great for storing yarns, magazines or other. Of course, you might use it for the original purpose and store dry measures in it.
