French SFBJ Paris 8" Doll All Original!
A darling little 8" tall bisque head SFBJ doll wearing her original regional folk costume.
This little lady is marked "SFBJ 60 Paris" on the back of her head. She has painted eyes, a mohair wig with a cardboard pate, a swivel neck and jointed at hips and shoulders. This little lady has her original composition jointed body. The hands are nicely detailed for such a small doll. She has painted brown shoes.
She is wearing her original provincial costume with sheer lace trimmed shawl and a really sweet bonnet. Her bodice is padded to give her a mature figure. The doll is all original and has no damage or repairs. I have not cleaned her in any way. Her pretty bisque face could use a gentle bath.
The Société Française de Fabrication de Bébés et Jouets' (S.F.B.J.), founded in 1899 was a large French doll making group, including companies such as Jumeau, Bru and Fleischmann and Bloedel. This doll is a lovely little example from this wonderful French doll company.
