Octagonal Shape in a wonderful Chinese Export Porcelain cup and saucer in the Rose Medallion pattern. Lovely hand painting in vivid colors with the usual 4 panels on the saucer and 2 panels on the cup. I believe this cup and saucer is a marriage because of the mark of Made in China on the saucer and no mark on the cup. If it is a marriage, they've been together a long time!
The cup is "tissue" thin with a slight chip on the side, which you can see in my primary picture, and pocks of porcelain on the inside of the bowl. I date the cup prior to 1891. The saucer is made of a later, 1915 to 1940, and heavier porcelain and has no damage that I can see. Please take age and use into consideration regarding the condition.
