In an unusual style reminiscent of a beehive, this vintage pewter salt and pepper set is marked on the base WB Mfg. Mayflower Pewter. These classic shakers were made by Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing Company, which operated in Bridgeport, Connecticut from 1901 through the 1950s. They produced a wide variety of art metal ware both in pewter and in silver plate.
The tops are threaded screw-on style, and show great aged patina. They stand 4 ½ inches tall, from the base to the top of the tiny finials, and in hand they feel solid and of good weight. Great for the primitive or country table, these good looking pewter shakers are in good vintage condition, and are ready to use!
